Welcome to the Tallahassee Community College 2004-2005 Reaffirmation of Accreditation Site
Tallahassee Community College embraces the philosophy outlined in the Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement, and approaches the reaffirmation process with integrity and quality enhancement as central themes. To that end, the Planning Council adopted the following statement on September 8, 2003.
Purpose and Goals of TCC's Reaffirmation Process
The purpose of the internal review of Tallahassee Community College is to assess the effectiveness of the College in carrying out its mission, to reaffirm accreditation, to provide accountability and assurance to the public regarding the educational quality of the institution, and to engage the College community in advancing initiatives directed at improving the quality of student learning.
To fulfill the stated purpose of the reaffirmation process, the Planning Council has adopted five goals:
To review and assess the effectiveness of programs and services of the College.
To assess the extent to which the College is in compliance with the Core Requirements, Comprehensive Standards and Federal Requirements.
To identify strengths and challenges and develop appropriate strategies for addressing the challenges.
To ensure that the strategic plan reflects the mission of the College and provides a vehicle for quality enhancement.
To develop a viable Quality Enhancement Plan that focuses the efforts of the College community on improving student learning outcomes.
